WHY AN ANEURYSM DISEASE MANAGEMENT TOOL?
Brain Aneurysms:
In the United States, there are an estimated 6.8 million people — one in 50 adults — who have an unruptured brain aneurysm. When ananeurysm ruptures (which happens about every 18 minutes in the United States) it results in a form of hemorrhagic stroke — termed “subarachnoid hemorrhage” — which is fatal in about 50 percent of cases.
Thoracic Aneurysms:
Every year, 200,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed an abdominal aneurysm.
A ruptured AAA is the 15th leading cause of death in the country, and the 10th leading cause of death in men over the age of 50.
50% of aneurysms are found incidentally. 15% of patients diagnosed with a thoracic aneurysm in the ER do not return for their first outpatient visit!
50% of aneurysms are found incidentally. 15% of patients diagnosed with a thoracic aneurysm in the ER do not return for their first outpatient visit!
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms:
Abdominal aortic aneurysms tend to occur in white males over the age of 60. In the United States, these aneurysms occur in up to 3.0% of the population (> 10 million people). Aneurysms start to form at about age 50 and peak at age 80.
INTRODUCING ANEURYSM DISEASE MANAGEMENT
